The invention relates to a shaped piece made up of various fractions of thermoplastic materials and to a process and an apparatus for its production. The invention is based on the object of providing a shaped piece of the generic type mentioned at the beginning and also a process and an apparatus for its production, the shaped piece being inexpensively composed of waste substances without additional fillers, leaching out of the core region being ruled out and nevertheless having as a finished product a surprisingly high resistance to high temperatures, pressure, bending and acids. The shaped piece comprises a shaped block composed of the mixture of sorted plastics waste from the waste industry and of fillers, in particular plastics carpet cutoffs and/or waste remains of sanitary products with cellulose, such as nappies or the like. The said shaped block is thermoplastically heated, expanded by a blowing agent, compressed in an injection mould and subsequently deairated and cooled by air. It has a denser structure in its outer regions than in its core region.
