Battery having a plurality of alkaline round cells

A battery (1) which is preferably suitable for use in electrical road vehicles is designed from alkaline round cells (2) having a length of 20 to 150 cm and a maximum thickness of 2.5 to 5 cm. These round cells (2) form a sealed stack aligned horizontally and parallel to one another in a common battery housing (3) and are at the same time subjected to forcible cooling by means of a cooling medium (air) which flows through the intermediate spaces in the stack. The electrical wiring of the tube cells is carried out by means of copper connectors (4) which are screwed to copper terminals, in the form of bolts, at the ends of the cells.
