Compounds of the formula in which R1 is hydroxyl, 2-hydroxyethoxy, C1-C4-alkoxy, C1-C4-alkanoyloxy, halogen, amine, azide, a keto, p-nitrobenzenesulphonyl or a pyranyloxy group of the formula in which X is a group of the formula or in which R3 is hydroxyl, C1-C4-alkanoyloxy or organic sulphonyloxy, and R4 is hydroxyl or carbamoyloxy, R2 is hydrogen, hydroperoxy, hydroxyl or methoxy, Y is a group of formula or in which R5 is hydroxyl or C1-C4-alkanoyloxy, and R6 and R7 are independently of one another, hydrogen or methyl, are suitable for the production of a drug for the prophylaxis and treatment of diseases which respond to inhibition of the osteoclast proton pump.
