A transporting and storing container for a disc magazine (2), which can be inserted into a disc-recording and/or reproducing apparatus, in particular a CD player, has a multiplicity of disc holders (5) which are mounted one above the other in receiving compartments (3) and in each case loosely receive a disc (4). The said container comprises a box-shaped housing (1) with a front wall (10) which can be opened. To obtain a secure position of the discs (4) in the disc holders (5), on the inner side of the front wall (10) and of the rear wall (9) of the housing (1) there are provided one above the other projecting tongues (17), which engage in the interspaces (6) of the disc holders (5) and which reach slightly over the discs (4) placed into the disc holders (5). <IMAGE>
