In this method, segmentation of the hand is carried out with the aid of a colour histogram of this hand. For this purpose, a preferred embodiment of the method according to the invention classifies a group of pixels as belonging to the hand segment, if a comparison of the colour histogram of this group of pixels with the colour histogram of the hand results in a sufficient agreement.
