A method for measuring the filling level of a liquid in a container, using the radar principle, in which a microwave signal is emitted in the direction of the liquid level from an antenna (transmitting antenna) arranged above the liquid level, in which a measured signal reflected at the liquid level is received by the antenna (transmitting antenna) or preferably by a further antenna (receiving antenna) and in which the filling level is calculated from the propagation time determined for the measuring signal, leads to an improvement in the reliability of the measurement method as a result of the fact that interfering signals occurring in a measured spectrum and independent of the filling level of the liquid are corrected with the aid of the measured intensity of a first interference signal. <IMAGE>
