A rotor (1) for cutting machines has around its circumference receptacles (6) for supporting axially parallel beating arms (7), the beating arms (7) having an arm body (7a) of symmetrical cross-section and engaging in the rotor receptacles (6) by means of a mount projection (8). In order to achieve rational operation and a high level of crushing effectiveness without making construction complicated, the plane of symmetry (S) of the arm bodies is aligned approximately tangentially to the rotary movement of the rotor and extends in the region of the rotor receptacles (6) opening in the rotary direction of the rotors and projecting cutting edges (9) which extend symmetrically around the plane (S) of symmetry of the arm bodies in planes which are normal to the axis are moulded to the arm body. <IMAGE> |
