The suction unit to extract dirt and debris from a textile machine, especially fibre and lint debris from the drawing unit of a ring spinner, has a carrier body (6) for the tube (4) with a snap groove (12) to fix the tube (4) to a rod. Pref. the snap groove (12) has a rear wall (13), partially circular base (15) and at least one flexible tab (16c), where together they form more than a semi-circle. The flexible tab (16c) is shaped with a locking projection (17) which, when mounted, grips over the holding rod. The flexible tab (16c) can be slit (18) to form further tabs (16a, 16b). The carrier body (6) also forms the opening surface (8). The tube (4) and the carrier body (6) form a one-piece unit of a plastics material, by injection moulding.
