A motor vehicle provided with independent suspension means for its front wheels includes a cross member (44) fixed at its centre to the front part of the vehicle body (20) and provided with end heads (42) each of which carries a pair of bushes (38, 40) on respective bearings (48, 60). The bushes (38, 40) are aligned on a common axis parallel to the longitudinal axis of the vehicle and serve for the articulation of an arm (34) connected, by means of a ball joint (32) to a support (14) for one of the front wheels (10). The bearings (48, 60) carrying the bushes (38, 40) are also fixed to the body (20) of the vehicle, whereby, in use, the cross members (44) is subject to stress solely as a result of forces acting in its own plane. |
