摘要 PURPOSE:To prevent sudden change in the ratio of the tonner to the carrier in the developing agent due to uneven electric potentials and surface contamination of copying papers due to the tonner, by installing an opening part to a part of the transferring shutter and flattening the electric potential at the sections where no copying paper is passed and where the copying paper is passed. CONSTITUTION:In a transferring device, in which a developed image on the image carrier is transferred on the transferring material by corona discharge, a transferring shutter 14 which covers the opening part of a corona discharger fitted with transferring corona discharging lines 12 and a shield case 13 surrounding the discharging lines 12, is located in the space between the image carrier and the corona discharging lines 12, and limits the passing of the generated corona discharge flow, is installed. When the size of a copying paper is determined, the transferring shutter 14 moves to a location where the shutter 14 covers the area other than the area required for transferring the picture, namely where the shutter 14 covers the non-transferring areas at both ends. A notched part is installed to the lower end of the shutter 14 and the shutter 14 directly acts on the surface of the image carrier while it limits the corona flow discharged from the corona discharger.
