PURPOSE:To make it possible to easily attach and detach an ink cartridge, by forming the opening for detaching the ink cartridge from the outside, when a carriage is present at a home position, to an exterior case. CONSTITUTION:An opening 16 is formed to an exterior case 5 at the position corresponding to ink cartridges 6, 7 when a carriage 4 is present at a home position and an opening and closing lid 17 is provided to said opening in a downwardly revolvable manner. Therefore, if the opening and closing lid 17 is opened when a recording head is stopped, the cartridges 6, 7 can be easily detached from the outside because the carriage 4 is present at the home position and also mounted similarly. If the opening and closing lid 17 is formed of a transparent material such as a resin, the interior can be easily and visually confirmed. |
