PURPOSE: To reduce the fraudulent use of a card by requesting supply of previously stored information selected at random as characteristic discrimination information and allowing a card transaction at the time, when requested characteristic discrimination information is correctly supplied. CONSTITUTION: A requester 101 must identify himself with respect to a gateway 105 for security. He must supply one of plural stored information at random or one information obtained from one selected at random from plural stored information as a characteristic discrimination information, in response to a request issued from the gateway 105 for security. Requested characteristic discrimination information is entered in relation to its essence (expressed by characteristic discrimination information), so that a correct response cannot be deduced from the request without knowing selected previously stored information. Only when the requested characteristic discrimination information is supplied correctly, does the gateway 105 permits access for security to a resource 103. |
