PURPOSE:To enable high-efficiency operations by limiting the maximum value of an AC output current corresponding to the increase of a DC voltage provided from a solar battery when this DC voltage exceeds a prescribed value in the case of converting the DC voltage into an AC voltage. CONSTITUTION:An inverter 3 converts the DC voltage provided from a solar battery 1 into the AC voltage and supplies power to an AC power system 2. An arithmetic circuit 100 of the inverter 3 generates a current limit value for limiting the maximum value of the AC output current corresponding to a DC voltage VDC, and a current reference circuit 101 limits and outputs the amplitude of the current reference corresponding to this current limit value. Then, a control part 102 controls a power conversion part 4 corresponding to this current reference on the start condition that the DC voltage is lower than a safe operating voltage. Thus, a voltage to be impressed to a semiconductor element for power constituting the power conversion is limited to the prescribed voltage, and the high-efficiency operation is enabled by using the semiconductor element for power with low withstand voltage. |
