An ethylenically unsaturated polyester has, as at least a number of terminal groups, C1-4 alkyl-carboxyl-C1-3 alkyl-carboxyl groups, especially acetoacetate groups. It can be prepared by reaction of terminal hydroxyl groups of a polyester with a C1-6 alkyl ester of a C1-4 alkyl-carboxyl-C1-3 alkyl-carboxylic acid, and can be blended with an ethylenically unsaturated monomer to provide a composition curable by free radical polymerization in the presence of an accelerator, especially cobalt octoate. |
