PROCESSING METHOD FOR EXTERNAL STORAGE DEVICE

PURPOSE:To relieve the job of deleting any file in existence in an external storage device at first for copying the system even when the system having the same storage information is copied and much idle capacity of the external storage device of a copy destination is not in existence. CONSTITUTION:The method is provided with a step to discriminate a system size stored in an external storage device 9, a step to discriminate the system size having been stored in the external storage device 9, a step to discriminate whether or not the same system as the storage information of the system stored in the external storage device 9 has already been stored in the external storage device 9, and a step to discriminate the system size having the same storage information in the external storage device 9 when the system having the same storage information as the system stored in the external storage device 9 has already been stored in the external storage device 9 and to recognize the size being the sum of the discriminated size and the idle capacity of the external storage device 9 to be an idle capacity of the external storage device 9.
