PERIPHERAL ZONE MONITORING CHANNEL INFORMING METHOD

PURPOSE:To make the number of channels whose reception levels are to be monitored to be reported to a mobile station for channel changeover be the same with the time of only an 800MHz band by providing the service area of a 1.5GHz band provided with a radio zone coincident with the radio zone of the 800MHz band in a part of a mobile communication system using the 800MHz band and making it usable by either 800MHz or 1.5GHz. CONSTITUTION:Zones 11, 12 and 13 use the 800MHz band, the zone 14 uses the 1.5GHz band and the zone 14 overlaps with the zone 13. The mobile station 23 inside the zone 11 is informed of the monitoring channel 20 of the zone 12 and the monitoring channel 21 of the zone 13 or the monitoring channel 22 of the zone 14 from a base station 15. The reception levels of the informed monitoring channels are measured in the mobile station 23 and are transmitted to the base station. In the base station, for the overlapping radio zone, one of the reception levels is used in common for the other reception level at the time of the enquiry of a free speech channel.
