PURPOSE: To surely perform correction by performing double scanning by a film scanner and comparing two scanning signals having the same nominal contents with respect to the position error of an image and correcting an image signal, based on the obtained image position error. CONSTITUTION: The deviation of the film speed is detected from an output signal Y1 of a movement vector uniformizing device 22, in accordance with a movement vector obtained in the running direction of a film. A speed error estimating circuit 25 supplies a signalΔV which indicates the deviation of the film speed from the nominal film speed. Further, the circuit 25 supplies a signal Yh used to correct the size of the image in a Y-direction. That is, the side of the film image in the Y-direction is changed, if the film speed is not correct. The signal Yh is supplied to a correction element 24 also, and the element 24 corrects the corresponding size in the Y-direction of the film image. The element 24 supplies an electronic image signal, which is corrected with respect to the position of the image and the size of the image in some cases, to an output terminal.
