摘要

PURPOSE:To update the redundant data at a high speed at the time of updating data for a disk array device which has the redundant data in the record unit placement. CONSTITUTION:A reading head 330 and a writing head 320 are fixed to a single actuator 340. Unupdated parity data are read out of the head 330 and used for the generation of new updated parity data. Then the updated parity data are written in the record incliding unupdated parity data before a disk 310 completes one revolution after the unupdated data are read out.
