PURPOSE:To provide an image forming device capable of forming an image having uniform density regardless of the cause of the fluctuation of dark decay on a photoreceptor film even though dark decay on a photoreceptor film is fluctuated by various causes. CONSTITUTION:A photoreceptor 13 is provided with a base body 30 having electrical conductivity and the photoreceptor film 12 formed on the surface of the base body 30. The photoreceptor film 12 is electrified by a main electrifier 14. The electrified photoreceptor film 12 is exposed by an optical device 15 so as to form an electrostatic latent image. The electrostatic latent image on the photoreceptor 12 is developed by a developing device 16. A surface electrometer 28 detects the degree of the dark decay on the photoreceptor film 12. A heater 24 compensates the fluctuation on the surface potential caused by the dark decay by adjusting the temperature of the photoreceptor film 12 in accordance with the degree of the dark decay on the photoreceptor film 12 detected by the surface electrometer 26.
