摘要 PURPOSE:To cheaply record information with a proper recording light quantity without reducing the recording area of user's data. CONSTITUTION:This device comprises an objective lens 3b irradiating an optical disk 1 after converging the output light beam of a semiconductor laser 3a, a light quantity detecting means 3c for detecting the outputted light quantity of the semiconductor laser 3a and for outputting the detected light quantity value in accordance with the outputted light quantity, a recording current impressing means for impressing the recording current in accordance with the recording current setting value given to the semiconductor laser 3a and a recording current control means for inputting the detected light quantity obtained by the light quantity detecting means and outputting the recording current setting value. The recording current control means outputs a single or plural recording current setting values prior to the information recording makes the semiconductor laser 3a emit based on the recording current setting value and stores the detected light quantity value corresponding to the respective recording current setting values. At the time of recording information, the recording current setting value is calculated and outputted for exciting the semiconductor laser to emit light 3a with a desired recording light quantity with a desired light quantity and the stored and detected light quantity and the semiconductor laser is made to emit light with an optimal recording light quantity.
