PURPOSE:To exceedingly expand the visual field angle of the liquid crystal display so that the display can be observed without any inconveniences at all even if the display is observed by plural persons or when the angle of observation is limited. CONSTITUTION:This microlens array sheet is formed by arranging, in a surface form, microunit lenses 6, each one of which is formed by holding a first material layer 1 having a rugged surface 3 at its boundary and a second material layer 2 having the refractive index smaller than the refractive index of the first layer between two planes 4, 5. The ray 9 entering from the first material layer 1 among the rays 9 which are incident from the normal direction of the plane 4 and pass the point 7 to maximize the angle of the rugged surface 3 with the plane 4 is transmitted by >=80% of its luminous flux to the second material layer 2. The ray 10 entering from the second material layer is refracted at >=10 deg. and is emitted from the plane 4 side of the first material layer 1. The liquid crystal display is constituted by providing the observation surface side of a liquid crystal cell with such first material layer 1 side on the observation surface side. |
