The invention relates to a seal arrangement between a drainage pipe (10) and a plastic tube (12) disposed therein, a seal being provided between the end region of the plastic tube and the drainage pipe and comprising, at least, one elastic ring (18, 20), a metallic expansion ring (24) being inserted into the plastic tube (12) radially inside the sealing ring (18, 20). The expansion ring is by permanent deformation so expanded that the sealing ring is subjected to the compression desired. The invention also relates to a method for producing the seal arrangement and a tool for mounting the sealing ring (18, 20) in the desired position between the plastic tube (12) and the drainage pipe (10). According to themethod the sealing ring is inserted into the plastic tube to a position at axial distance from the end of the plastic tube. The expansion ring (24) is inserted by means of an expansion tool in the plastic tube to a position radially inside the sealing ring, and by means of the expansion members of the expansion tool the expansion ring is expanded and deformed permanently to a position where the sealing ring is compressed to give the desired sealing, the expansion ring is considerably wider than the compressed sealing ring and has end positions (24A) axially outside the sealing ring. The assembly tool comprises a centering body which is adapted for the plastic tube and has a hub supporting sleeve with a radial arm with end members which can be inserted into and be operated in the intermediate space between the plastic tube (12) and the drainage pipe (10) for pressing the sealing ring into the axial position intended. |
