PURPOSE:To introduce accumulated gas safe for a human body into an air bag, by including a heating element which is arranged in a gas cylinder, generates heat by ignition and produces only solid by reaction with accumulated gas, and an ignition means which is actuated by the output signal of a shock sensitive means and ignites the heating element. CONSTITUTION:As a symbol A shows, remaining part of nitrogen gas 12 enters into the inside of an exhaust tube directly from the open edge of an exhaust tube 4. Chemical reaction occurs when nitrogen gas passes throughd a metallic exothermic agent 1 which is set in its high temperature condition, and as soon as high reaction heat is generated by this chemicdl reaction stable nitride is produced. The nitrogen gas 12 is heated by this reaction heat, two flows A & B of the nitrogen gas 12 flow into an air bag from an exhaust vent 20 after they form a confluent flow inside the exhaust tube 4 and are homogenized thermally, and the air bag expands urgently so as protect passengers from shock. |
