- Remotely controlled mechanical coupling - The device comprises: . a cylinder (4) having at least one negative recess (9) on its internal wall, . a tubular liner (10) sliding inside the cylinder and exhibiting at least one series of housings (21) in its thickness, these housings being occupied by mobile locking members (22), - and a piston (30) sliding in the liner, delimiting within the latter a chamber (32) in communication with a pressurised fluid circuit (18), exhibiting, for each locking member, at least one tapered ramp (35), and capable of occupying two stable positions by means of a return spring (33) and by letting pressurised fluid into the chamber (32). - Application to the function of locking/unlocking a steering axle assembly of a moving vehicle. <IMAGE>
