Storage unit for flat articles having a thin cross section comprising, on the one hand, at least one vertical component (2, 22) of square or rectangular transverse section and, on the other hand, a number of horizontal dividing means for separating the articles, characterised in that each horizontal dividing means is a length of wire (12) formed into a stirrup shape, each side wall (2a, 22a) of the vertical component (2, 22) possessing, close to its free vertical edge [edges], a vertical row of perforations (9) such that each of these coincides with a perforation (9) in the opposite side wall (12a), the purpose of each being to take the bent end (12'a) of a stirrup (12), while the back wall (2b, 22b) of the vertical component has a vertical row of horizontal slots (11), each situated level with one pair of perforations (9) and at least equal in length to the middle portion (12b) of a stirrup (12), its purpose being to accommodate and support this middle portion. <IMAGE>
