摘要 PURPOSE:To properly control the operation of automatic speed change control based on engine revolutions by prohibiting performing automatic speed change control based on engine revolutions when the amount of air intake is detected exceeding a specified value, when the detected engine revolutions are less than a specified value, and when the aforesaid condition has been continued for the specified period of time. CONSTITUTION:When a detection signal for the amount of intake air is taken in the CPU 24 of an ECU 20 from an air flow sensor 17, it is judged whether or not the amount of intake air is in excess of a specified value, and when the amount of intake air is in excess of a specified value, it is then judged whether or not engine revolutions based on an engine revolution detection signal from an ignition pulse generator 14 is less than a specified value. When engine revolutions are found to have been less than a specified value, and furthermore when engine revolutions are found to have continued at revolutions less than a specified value for the definite period of time, control is performed in the way that a fail flag is set in a register, and automatic speed change control using engine revolutions is prohibited, so that a condition before it was judged that engine revolution signal conductor has failed, is kept on.
