The present invention relates to a page and line marker which is simple to make and inexpensive for books, brochures, magazines and all printed or manuscript documents. According to the embodiment represented in Figure 1, the marker consists of a simple label of rectangular shape (1), of small dimensions, cut out from a material which is slightly flexible and rigid, such as plastic material, bristol board, in which there is made, on the inside on three sides, a cutout which is likewise of rectangular shape and forms a tongue (2) which can be engaged and pinched on the page P to be marked of the book so that the upper part (3) or lower part (4) of the tongue (2) underlines the line to be marked of the page concerned which it makes possible to find immediately without error or fumbling while the rear part (5) which is not cut out of the original rectangle (1) projects from the book when the latter is closed, making it possible to find said page again immediately. <IMAGE>
