PURPOSE:To obtain a polyester film having an antistatic layer free from coating irregularity, not generating a static electricity obstruction such as a discharge ignition fire and improved in antistatic properties. CONSTITUTION:An antistatic polyester film is constituted by providing an antistatic agent having a sulfonate group and an antistatic agent containing a surfactant with HLB of 12.0 or less on at least the single surface of a polyester filmed This film is produced by applying an antistatic aq. coating soln. containing the antistatic agent having the sulfonate group and the antistatic agent containing the surfactant with HLB of 12.0 or less to at least the single surface of the polyester film before the completion of orientation crystallization and applying drying, stretching and thermal fixing treatment to the coated film to complete the orientation crystallization of the film.
