PRODUCTION OF LACTIC ACID COMPOUND

PURPOSE:To provide a method for producing lactic acid compound in which the lactic acid compound can be produced under mild reactional conditions of a low temperature and pressure by using sulfuric acid having high safety. CONSTITUTION:The characteristic of this method for producing lactic acid compound comprises reacting acetaldehydes with carbon monoxide in the presence of 70-95vol.% sulfuric acid and carrying out the carbonylating reaction in a method for reacting the acetaldehydes with the carbon monoxide and water or an alcohol and producing the lactic acid compound.
