PURPOSE:To provide a device for efficiently purifying noxious components escaping during the cold engine operation. CONSTITUTION:A ctalytic device 3, gasoline removing device 4, and an adsorbing device 5 are installed in series in the exhaust system of an engine, and the fine gasoline particles in the exhaust gas discharged during the cold engine operation is formed to liquid droplets by the gasoline removing device 4, or the cold HC in the exhaust is adsorbed on the adsorbent of the adsorbing device 5, and removed. Further, the HC in the exhaust gas discharged during the engine warming is purified by the catalytic device 3. Accordingly, during the cold engine operation, clean exhaust gas can be discharged in any case of the cold and warm engine operations. |
