PURPOSE:To prevent the discoloration of a member, such as steel sheet position- detecting white board, in a continuous annealing furnace. CONSTITUTION:Al2O3 is thermally sprayed on the surface of the member in the continuous annealing furnace and the surface of the thermally sprayed film is polished to <1mum surface roughness Ra. An inert gas, such as gaseous N2, is blown to such thermally sprayed surface. As a result, the discoloration of the steel sheet position-detecting white board in the continuous annealing furnace to black is prevented. The steel sheet position detecting accuracy of the continuous annealing furnace is improved. The life of the white board is prolonged. |
