PREPARATION OF CATALYST FOR PURIFICATION OF EXHAUST GAS

PURPOSE:To improve activity and heat resistance of a catalyst and to prevent a metal for the catalyst from releasing by a method wherein the metal for the catalyst is carried on a metal-contg. silicate and activation treatment is performed by heating it at a specified temp. and for a specified time. CONSTITUTION:After a metal for a catalyst is carried on a metal-contg. silicate, an activation treatment is applied thereto at 150-340 deg.C for a specified time. Adsorbed water etc., in the metal-contg. silicate is eliminated thereby from this silicate by this activation treatment and the metal for the catalyst is tightly bonded thereby on this silicate to improve activity and heat resistance of the catalyst and stability of carrying condition of the metal for the catalyst on the metal-contg. silicate.
