PURPOSE:To remove the resistance of a drive system and the reaction force and improve the rate of fuel consumption by opening a decompression valve with a brake pressure when a brake pedal is stamped during the car running to cause its stopping and lowering the pressing forces of a gear mesh adjusting brake and a mesh adjustment clutch. CONSTITUTION:When a car is stopped by stamping a brake pedal 39 during running with the gearing in the running position, a solenoid valve 45 is disengaged in conformity to a signal given from a speed sensor 49. This causes depressing of a piston 42 with the brake pressure to open a decompression valve 53 resulting in a decrease in the line pressure, and the pressing forces of a gear mesh adjusting brake and a mesh adjustment clutch are sunk to lead to a decrease in the resistance of the drive system (driving force). Even when a parking brake lever 58 is drawn while the car is at a standstill, the valve 45 is opened in conformity to a signal given by a parking brake sensor 48 to cause opening of the decompression valve 53, so that no resistance (driving force) is produced in the drive system. Accordingly a wasteful fuel consumption can be nullified and the amount of exhaust gas be reduced. |
