PURPOSE:To provide a roll made of a rubber-covered, fiber-reinforced resin composite, capable of achieving a long service life without deteriorating the resin even in the case where rubber covering is vulcanization repeatedly effected. CONSTITUTION:In a roll made of a carbon fiber-reinforced resin composite 2 around which rubber is applied, an anticorrosive layer 3 having resistance to steam at 150 deg.C and resistance to oxidation is provided on the inner face of the roll. After a layer mainly formed of a phenolic resin, a furan resin, a fluororesin and a silicone resin is first molded as an anticorrosive layer, the carbon fiber-reinforced resin composite 2 is molded on the surface of the anticorrosive layer and simultaneously cured to be surface-processed. Thereafter, rubber is applied around the surface to be vulcanized. Alternatively, after the carbon fiber-reinforced resin composite 2 is molded, cured and processed, a layer to be formed of resin as the anticorrosive layer 3 is applied to the inner face of the composite tubular body, and rubber is applied around the tubular body to be vulcanized. |
