PURPOSE:To obtain an oxide superconductor having high critical current density even in a strong magnetic field by weighing a Y compd., a Ba compd. and a Cu compd. in a specified molar ratio, forming a BaCu compd., mixing this compd. with the Y compd. and burning this mixture. CONSTITUTION:An R compd. (R is a group IIIa element of the periodic table such as Y or La), a Ba compd. and a Cu compd. are weighed so that the molar ratio of R:Ba:Cu is contained in the region defined by a point A (55:10:35), B (40:40:20), C (10:60:30) and D (10:25:65) on triangular coordinates. The weighed Ba compd. and Cu compd. are dissolved in an org. acid and the resultant org. double salt of BaCu is burnt to form a BaCu compd. having <=20mum average particle diameter. This compd. is then mixed with the R compd., compacted, fired at 1,050-1,300 deg.C and slowly cooled to room temp. to obtain the objective oxide superconductor contg. an R2BaCuO5 phase uniformly and finely dispersed in RBa2Cu3O7-x. |
