The subject matter of the invention is a conveying apparatus for vehicle bodies (46) in motor vehicle manufacture, with a trolley conveyor which has travel gear (26) mounted on a running rail (10) and having load-suspension members. To create a standard conveying system in which the bodies (46) are attached to one and the same load-suspension member from the earliest possible moment up to the end of finishing of the vehicle without intermittent transfer to other conveying systems being necessary, each load-suspension member consists of an arm (34) which projects vertically downwards from the travel gear (26), passes through an opening (42) in the roof (44) of the body (46) and has a gripper (40) at its bottom end which can be fixed to the floor (48) of the body (46). The arm (34) is preferably designed as a vertically extendable telescopic rod (36). <IMAGE>
