To improve the flooding of the laundry with lye, simple and cheap means which are essentially, in any case, an integral part of drum-type washing machines are specified. These means refer to a supporting star 5, the arms 9 of which, when passing through lye 7 located in the tub bottom, scoop up some of this lye and, during the further rotation of the drum 1, lift it and guide it to perforations 8 which are arranged in the base 6 of the drum in the vicinity of the hub 4 of the supporting star. <IMAGE>
