In order, with low expenditure on equipment, to obtain laser radiation for medical purposes, in particular for ablation of tissue, a laser-radiation source is proposed which is characterised by a solid-state laser and at least one frequency converter connected downstream of this laser, by virtue of which converter the laser radiation is converted into a wavelength range of between 195 nm and 210 nm.
