Disclosed is a process for extruding and coating foodstuffs, wherein the foodstuff is extruded by means of an extruding device and, following extrusion, is cut off using a cutting device, the material being sprayed with at least one additive after leaving the extrusion die and prior to cutting. Also disclosed is a device for carrying out the process, having a barrel extruder for advancing the material to be extruded, which is extruded through an extrusion die, and following extrusion, cut off using a cutting device with at least one spray device being used to spray at least one additive onto the external material prior to cutting.
