Method and device for creating a musical or sound atmosphere characterized by decomposing, using sampling (1), sound sources into elementary sounds which are then individually sent, by means of an appropriate computer system (2), as the user pleases, on a considerable number of loudspeakers fed (5) by a multi-track amplifier (4) and distributed in space so that listeners are fully immersed in the sounds produced. Application in sound reproduction and diffusion or musical composition equipment for personal as well as professional use: concert halls, discotheques, cinemas and the like.
