Sleeve-shaped gear for a camshaft adjusting system

A sleeve-shaped gear is connected by its external toothing to a camshaft and by its internal toothing to a driveshaft for the camshaft. The camshaft can be adjusted in relation to the driveshaft by longitudinal displacement of the sleeve-shaped gear, since at least one of the gear tooth systems is designed as helical toothing. In order to ensure zero backlash despite a relatively simple gear tooth system and to prevent rattling noise, the gear wall has at least one slot running in an axial direction, at the side of which the wall sections are slightly curved in opposing radial directions. Pairs of slots can also be provided, however, the intervening wall sections of which have a slight permanent deformation. In this way the sleeve-shaped gear is virtually braced with the shafts connected thereto.
