The invention relates to an installation for scrubbing gases, in particular flue gases, having at least one jet (spray) stage having one or more nozzles for the scrubbing medium in a tube. On the basis of the invention, the intensity of the scrubbing operation is to be increased by a particular design of this tube and of the nozzles. To achieve this object, according to the invention, the tube is conically tapered in the region of the nozzles and, in addition, the nozzles are arranged to spray downwards in such a manner that they spray both into the constriction and onto the conical surfaces of the tube.
