The bicycle hub generator machine is intended to be capable of being manufactured using hubs and wheel axles which are of commercially available design and with components of a conventional standard dynamo which function as a winding, field distributor and pole wheel and have gearing which can be switched on and off in an uncomplicated way which is free of mechanical jolts while the vehicle is being ridden when the electrical operating unit is not in use. The bicycle hub generator machine consists of a hub (1) and of a wheel axle (2) on which an electrical and a mechanical assembly are located in the interior of the hub. The mechanical assembly is a four-stage planetary gear system with a high transmission ratio. It has three gear inputs and one gear output. The drive is thus provided at three points. When the electrical operating units on the bicycle are not in use the gearing can be switched on and off in an uncomplicated way without mechanical jolts while the vehicle is being ridden. The bicycle hub generator machine serves to obtain mechanical energy from the overall movement energy of the front wheel hub of a bicycle and to convert it into electrical energy to operate all the electrical operating units. <IMAGE>
