High-discrimination binoculars (field glasses)

The invention relates to binoculars with high discrimination capability by using light of relatively small wavelength ranges. Both in military and in civil use, for example hunting, it can be important, when viewing the surroundings through binoculars, to detect camouflaged objects and object structures at a greater distance with more ease. As a result of the transmission of the binoculars, which exhibit two transmission bands (Figure 1), a short-wave transmission band with a transmission maximum at 445 nm and an additional long-wave transmission band with a transmission maximum at 750 nm, interferences of the light waves at the object can be noticed, at a great distance, which lead to the detection of contours and separation lines of the camouflaged object. <IMAGE>
