<p>This invention concerns a holographic illuminator for liquid crystal displays that provides a true one pass edge illuminated hologram with a steep reference angle. Such holographic illuminators provide pixellated illumination in monochrome and three primary colors. The invention also includes a method of making an achromatic hololens by laminating together a plurality of off zone plate hololens. The use of a hologram as a transmission notch filter is also disclosed.</p> |
