The invention concerns a nappy, this term being understood to mean both washable and reusable products. The aim of the invention is to provide a nappy which reliably prevents soiling and/or body fluids from escaping, ensures a high degree of comfort, has a high capacity to absorb fluids and is easy to handle, as well as being kind to the skin and fast-drying. This is achieved by virtue of the fact that the nappy comprises an outer layer (5) with an embeded absorptive layer (4) and on which a raised intermediate layer (3) with pockets on all sides is located such that there is almost no contact between the absorptive layer (4) and an inside layer (2), that the intermediate layer (3) surrounds the absorptive layer (4) to form a liquid-tight seal between the two and that the outer layer (5) is joined to the intermediate layer (3) to form a liquid-tight seal, the edges of the inside layer (2), the outer layer (5) and a prior art outer fabric being joined together by a seam extending the whole way round (20) to form a single element, and longitudinal elastic tapes (8 and 8') and an elastic transverse tape (9) being attached or sealed in such a way that the area of the join is imprevious to liquid. |
