Motor vehicle heat accumulator having a heat accumulator housing and a latent heat accumulator mechanism which is accommodated therein in a fashion insulated against the heat accumulator housing and through which there flows a heat carrier medium which serves as cooling agent for the motor vehicle engine. The latent heat accumulator mechanism is arranged in a latent heat accumulator container. The latent heat accumulator container has two storage chambers which are accommodated in the common heat accumulator housing and are mechanically separated from one another by a chamber-dividing wall and are thermally insulated from one another. Latent heat accumulator elements of different function are arranged in the storage chambers. The storage chambers are included in separate circuits for the heat-carrying medium. Said circuits can be controlled and/or regulated independently of one another. <IMAGE>
