The invention relates to an anchor rail (1) for building construction, having shaped portions (7) which are directed upwards on the rear of the rail (2) and in which there are provided openings (9) penetrated by the shank (15) of an anchor bolt (6) which exhibits a widened portion located beneath the rear of the rail and is fixed on the rear of the rail (2) during upsetting (compression), a positively locking connection being achieved in the process. In order to produce a particularly stable arrangement of the anchor bolt (6) with respect to the rear of the rail (2), the invention proposes that the widened portion be configured as a plate (13) fastened on the end (15') projecting through the opening (9) into the rail interior. <IMAGE>
