<p>Procedure for the application of a protective sheath 11 on a band blade 12, said sheath 11 having a substantially drop-shaped form with tight lips 43, said procedure being realised with a suitable device, comprising in automatic sequence a phase for placing the band blade 12 on means of support 19, a phase for tightening the band blade 12 in position on tightening means 20, 21 followed by a phase for the insertion of the open end 42 of the sheath 11 on the edge 28 of the blade 12 itself, while pressure means 33 operate so that, acting on the back 44 of the sheath 11, they push it against the band blade 12, said insertion phase occurring at least during the feed phase of the band blade 12 with continuous application of the sheath 11 for the entire duration of operation and a sheath cutting phase 11 for defining its rear end, said cutting phase being interlocked with position recognition at the end of the application cycle. Device for the application of a protective sheath 11 onto a band blade 12, suitable for applying a sheath 11 formed substantially in drop form on the cutting edge 28 of a band blade 12, said device co-operating advantageously with means of feeding a reel 13, 15 of sheath 11 and possibly with loop control means 14, comprising at least one unit 16 for positioning and clamping the band blade 12 associated with means of feeding 21a temporarily activatable by the same 12, and at least one sheath insertion unit 11, there being presser means 33 co- operating under pressure at least with the back 44 of said sheath 11 against said cutting edge 28, there also being a cutting unit 36, said cutting unit 36 being at least interlocked with a sheath 11 application completion signal to cut the rear end of the sheath 11. <IMAGE></p> |
