PURPOSE:To prevent exposure errors caused by having specified information displayed and to obtain appropriate exposure by interrupting a display when a part where the specified information is displayed is splitted and photometrically measured. CONSTITUTION:While the photometry at a split sensor 138D disposed so as to split and photometrically measure the peripheral area D of a focusing screen 132 where a Roman alphabet 'P' designating a panorama mode is projected and displayed is conducted, and even in the case that the panorama mode is set, the display of the alphabet 'P' designating the panorama mode is forcedly turned off even though lighting processing is performed. Thus the detecting brightness increase of the peripheral area D of the focusing screen 132 caused by having the alphabet 'P' projected and displayed is prevented, and accurate photometry corresponding to the light quantity of an object is attained. The lighting time of the alphabet 'P' is an extremely short time (for instance 100musec) because it is only when the photometry by the split sensor 138D is conducted. |
